ROAD TESTING

As of December 1, 2020, road testing is now administered by the Government of Alberta through Alberta Registries. What does this mean for you as an Albertan? There really isn't a change for you. The big difference is that this means where and how you will book your road tests will differ. All examiners will still be working in accordance with policy and procedure as they did prior to December 1, 2020 with the key difference being where to book.

You may book online by clicking this link and save yourself the time coming in to see us: https://www.albertadriverexaminer.ca?registry=245

When booking online please be sure the location is Wild Rose Licence & Registry. If you have a government mandated exam, are under suspension or are unsure of whether you are eligible for the exam - come see us.

We have a strict parameter of rules for attempting a road test.

  1. You must be in the office at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your road test
  2. When you attend the Shawnessy Licence and Registry, ensure you check in on the tablet under Road Test Check In
  3. If you have to cancel your exam, it must be at least 24 hrs in advance. Should you cancel your exam within 24 hrs, there will be no refund of fees paid.
  4. You must be checked in with an agent a minimum of five minutes prior to your scheduled time. If you are late for your test, we will not proceed with the test. There is no grace period of time. You will be required to rebook and pay the full price for the exam.
  5. You must meet all prerequisites to complete the exam.
  6. If your vehicle is not in proper working order or does not have an adequate amount of fuel, the exam will not proceed.

The fees for doing a road test, depends on the class of test you do. Click here to see the fees.
